At the beginning of your workout select a word or phrase to focus on. Try ‘I am strong’ or ‘I am a fighter’. Repeat it to yourself and come back to it as often as possible during your workout. Focus on this intention as the why behind your workout.
Visualization primes your muscles and your mind for the task ahead. Visualize yourself completing your workout strong. Powering through that last set, moving a heavy weight with ease.
3. Divide and Conquer
Break your workout down into mini goals. If your goal is to run 3 miles, look at it as running 1 mile 3 times. It is much easier to commit to running one mile.
4. Have a Purpose
Take your workout to the next level by having purpose or a goal behind each workout. Your goal could be to deadlift your body weight, manage your anxiety, or fit into your skinny jeans. Having a purpose takes your workouts from simply working out to training to reach your goal.
While performing a lift, focus on the muscle you are targeting. This is will help activate the muscle and keep your form correct.
6. Embrace the Good Pain
